Emi Handa

Emi is Seimei's wife and Seishuu's mother. She initially opposes Seishuu's wish to live on the island, refusing to believe that he is growing up and distancing himself from his parents. However, she begrudgingly gives him her blessing after seeing how fulfilled he is when helping the people of Nanatsutake village. Emi often comments that Seishuu and Seimei are very similar, and sometimes intervenes when she senses that the two are either too stubborn or don't know how to solve their differences.

Later on, when Seishuu and Naru come to visit, Emi takes a liking to Naru and, to Seishuu's embarrassment, spends time going over his baby photos with her.

Emi is also a master of double-edged compliments, especially when she and Kirie butt heads.
