Mary Curtis March

The mother of the March family. With a caring, gentle and firm personality, she leads the March family in place of her husband, Frederick, who went to war. Like Frederick, Mary is against slavery, and in the city at the beginning, she hides John, a young black man who was a Confederate slave, at home to save him from a pinch. Since coming to Newcord, Mary has also done charity work for the underprivileged.
