Yugi's Mother

The unnamed mother of Yugi Mutou (named Mrs. Mutou in the English manga). She lived with his son, Yugi and father-in-law, Sugoroku in the Kame Game shop. Her husband lived away from his family on business.

She once told Yugi off for practicing precogniton by matching his socks when he could have been spending his time studying, hitting him on the head with a ladle after he explained what he was doing.

She also appeared in Duel 75 telling Yugi he hadn't eaten hsi breakfast as he left to meet Anzu who was waiting outside for him. She also displayed some worry, silently expressing her hope he was okay and that he had been talking to himself.

In the Duel Monsters anime, she is given a calm personality and has made cameos when her father-in-law was in the hospital due to losing his very spirit to Pegasus' Millenium Eye's ancient mystical abilities.

She confronts Yugi with her fears at one point. Not knowing that Yugi was talking to Dark Yugi, she assumed that Yugi was talking to himself. As Yugi and Anzu left for school, she asked Sugoroku about it. Sugoroku assured her Yugi had a lot on his mind, saying that he was the same at his grandson's age. Yugi's mother remarked that was what worried her, angering her father-in-law. This scene was removed from the English dub.
