Otr

Otr is the titular protagonist of Otr of the Flame. He is a young boy who wishes more than anything else to be a warrior like his father. When he is given the opportunity to become a cook at one of the kingdom's fortresses, Otr leaves his home village and bids farewell to his sister Sanna.

Later, after almost coming close to death in a skirmish with the Ice Kingdom, Otr awakens the fire spirit Fylgja, becoming her vessel and setting out on an adventure to make his own saga.

Otr is a kind-hearted and helpful boy. It is said that he goes out of his way to aid the other members of his community, by hunting and preparing food, looking after livestock, cleaning chimneys, and even helping with funerals. Otr's kindness is admired by others but is also a reason as for why some people believe he can't become a warrior. Even in his discussions with his sister, Sanna, Otr seems to have feelings of self-doubt.
