Reed is an Earth Federation Lieutenant stationed aboard a Salamis ship that helps White Base head to Earth. Due to an attack by Char's Musai, Reed is injured and his re-entry capsule is forced to head onto White Base. He remains on White Base during its trek through North America, constantly being in conflict with Bright over how to direct the ship. When White Base first meets up with Lt. Matilda's supply core she takes Reed along with her.
