Satoru Nanpo

Satoru Nanpo is a professional mahjong player based in Nagano Prefecture. He serves as a guardian to his granddaughter Kazue Nanpo and teaches her the ability to play strongly in the south wind segment of her prefectural individual tournament matches. He is only mentioned by name in the manga, where fellow professional player Yasuko Fujita expresses her surprise that the mysterious Nanpo has a granddaughter.
