A hundred years ago the witches abandoned the world; however, not all witches are gone. A witch still lives. Skyla, along with her frog familiar, Will, have a great destiny awaiting them.

Skyla is married to Jewel; however, the marriage is revealed to be a sham when she finds out that Jewel was not serious. Skyla still loves him, but as the story progresses, she finds herself falling for an alchemist named Kaylus who helps her learn to use magic, as Skyla can not cast spells due to inexperience and lack of a teacher.
