In the English dub, he seems to be a reference to American actor Fabio Lanzoni, being given an exaggerated Italian accent; in the Japanese version, he seems to be a reference to Japanese pop singer Kimura Takuya (stage name Kimutaku) of the band SMAP.

During the Princess Festival in O-Hina Town, he served as the commentator of the Queen of the Princess Festival. The prize for the winner of the competition was a Pokémon Princess Doll Set and a photo with Cappuccino. Many of the participants in the festival, with the exception of Misty and Jessie, were thrilled at the chance to meet him.
