Tomoya is a tall, teenage boy who is considered very attractive among his peers with wavy black hair that he usually styles to the left of his face and golden brown eyes. He is of average build, and though rather slim, he is shown to be slightly muscular. Tomoya also has a piercing in his right ear, though it is unknown if he has one on his other ear due to his hair covering it up. Out of all the other male students, he is shown to be among the tallest.

Tomoya is often shown to have a playboy-ish/shady personality. Very little is known about his true intentions and his true feelings toward a situation because of his passive character, but despite that he is shown to be supportive of both Kai and Uka and his other friends.
