They are undead humans or demons with rotten bodies that were revived by the Netherworld's poisonous air. Due to their rotten bodies, they emit a rotten stench from their body, which makes them generally hated by others. Despite being categorized as a whole separate race, they are technically not as such.
They are considered unintelligent as their brains are rotten as well. It is claimed that it is specifically their rotten brains are what cause them to smell bad. Some undead retain their ability of independent thought and some can even speak in fluent and coherent sentences.
