Hiyoshi Wakashi is the latest addition to the regular team. Despite being a sophomore, Hiyoshi is a very promising player, and a lot of people has been speculating that Hiyoshi will replace Atobe as the next captain of Hyoutei. Hiyoshi's family has a dojo, that is why he incorporates martial arts with his tennis. He first appeared in the series as Echizen's opponent for the tie-breaking match between Hyoutei and Seigaku. In the nationals, he played doubles with his senpai, Mukahi Gakuto.
