Shousetsu Dororo

Japan, 1449, Jukai, a former physician for the imperial court lives quietly on the mountain of Kurama, hiding from the violence and prejudice in the capital city of Kyoto. While gathering herbs in the forest, he is caught in a sudden storm that drivees him to the Takano river, where he discovers an infant floating in a washbasin, caught in the reeds. This baby boy, Hyakkimaru, has no eyes, ears or limbs - but he is alive. It will take all of Jukai's medical knowledge to keep him that way.

As Hyakkimaru grows, he develops strange abilities of perception and sensation that allow him to communicate and interract with the world without ordinary human senses. He discovers that the loss of his limbs and appendages was no accident or birth defect, and that there is a way to get them back. He must travel through war-torn Japan to discover the mystery of his birth and dismemberment - and to make himself whole again.
