Sugar Rain

After two months of barely getting by as a bathroom cleaner at a hotel, Johann is suddenly told to leave when his predecessor returns. All he has left is his younger brother, Philip, waiting for leftover buffet scraps.

One day, a man approaches Johann, struck by how much he resembles an acquaintance, and offers him a job on the spot. It could be a scam, or something far more dangerous—but the pay is $5,000 a month.

The work is menial, in a crumbling shack far removed from the absurdly grand mansion nearby. Still, Johann is just happy to have the job—until he crosses paths with Helbert.
