The Contracted Grand Duchess

The young and lovely Princess Rien Digrit seems to be the unluckiest girl in her land. Her fifth husband in under a year fails to survive their wedding night, and all kinds of rumors place the blame on her. But her father promises things will turn out for the better should she marry Baron Madd Cranchesta, his close associate.

Before long, Rien realizes she is but a pawn in her father and Madd's conspiracy for political gain; neither of them has ever truly cared for her. Fed up with her own weakness, Rien demands a divorce, only to pay with her life. However, by some miracle, Rien opens her eyes in the past, moments before she is introduced to Madd.

Rien quickly trades her insecurities for a steely resolve for revenge, understanding that her best bet at survival is postponing her engagement to Madd. This time, she chooses to seek out a man who is a thorn in her father's side—the infamously cold and distant Grand Duke Clocean Ellagadar.
