Sukeroku

Sukeroku was a human man who lived 500 years prior to the start of the story. He was usually seen around Yukiji and admired her a lot.

After Yukiji was separated from the convoy that was supposed to take her to the capital, Sukeroku came across Yatori, who killed everyone in the convoy and devoured Sukeroku.
